Celebrate our community’s strength and a year of small steps toward rebuilding at the first Winter Bloom Market & Gathering, created by and for Altadena neighbors.
Join friends new and old for two days of tradition sharing, crafting, wellness, music and creative play, as well as local artists and vendors, many of them Altadena locals.
After a year of unimaginable losses due to the Eaton fire, it is more important than ever to celebrate the beautiful and diverse community that is our beloved Altadena.
For Neighbors, By Neighbors
In April 2025, Altadena resident and production designer Maggie Ruder started crying in her office while filming an upcoming Christmas episode of a television show. The reminder
of a holiday filled with tradition hit her hard. Like many others, the Dickovers — Maggie, Paul and their son Cal — lost their home in the Eaton Fire.
Looking to create something positive, Maggie partnered with Hilary DeWaay and Kimberly Kirven of Bespoke Art Society. Together, they imagined a way to bring people together in a spirit of creativity, connection, and renewal — Winter Bloom Market & Gathering emerged.
Through partnerships with community organizations, local business owners, and a team of friends and neighbors, Winter Bloom Market & Gathering will be a space to gather, connect and celebrate the rich tapestry of our community — creating new traditions together.
Free community programming for all! Restorative yoga, jam sessions, crafting workshops, sound baths & more to come.

As winter approaches, many in Altadena are preparing for their first holiday season after losing everything — including cherished, often irreplaceable, ornaments.
A group of fire survivors is working to bring a little light to this difficult season. At Winter Bloom, people may choose a special ornament from our display to take home at no cost.
